The NeXT combines the xNT and xEM in a single implant. What's special here is the compact size!
Unlike cheap Far East products, this so-called "tag" is only 14mm long! The applicator has also been improved – for even more precise insertion. As a result, insertion should take no more than 2 seconds.

Since you never know what frequency ranges you'll encounter "out there," it's always a good idea to be prepared for both high- and low-frequency ranges. On one hand, you can easily copy (i.e. clone) an existing low-frequency card (e.g. HID) to your implant – ideally using this – and on the other, store all kinds of information on it to use as a tag for access control, for example.

Our xLED field testers show you the best position and orientation to optimally pair your NExT implant with compatible HF and LF readers. The RFID Diagnostic Card informs you about the frequency, operating cycle, and read frequency of RFID reader systems.

The Single includes only the NeXT implant preloaded in a syringe.

NTAG Chip Security

Why is this important?

The NFC chip in this product is from the NTAG family by NXP. This chip type was developed for use in typical NFC applications such as smart posters, labels, and other disposable uses where memory content is typically written and then locked to prevent changes. This is done using built-in "lock bytes," which are OTP (one-time programmable). This means that once the lock bytes are activated to protect memory blocks, they cannot be undone. Once a memory block is locked, it is permanently read-only, which is not ideal for a chip implant. Additionally, many common NFC smartphone apps and software provide options to "lock" or "protect" your tag, making it easy to accidentally render your xNT permanently read-only. For this reason, we have disabled the ability to change or set the lock bits on the NTAG chip in this product.

In addition to the lock bytes, the NTAG offers a 32-bit password protection feature. It can be used to protect writing only or both reading and writing to the user memory of the NTAG chip with a password. Regardless of what some NFC smartphone apps indicate, it is not possible to remove or disable the password—only to set it to the factory default hexadecimal value of 0xFF 0xFF 0xFF 0xFF. If the password is not changed and remains at factory settings, anyone could easily authenticate, change your password, and then write data or change protection settings on your chip implant, potentially locking you out of your own chip. For this reason, we have set a default password value of 0x44 0x4E 0x47 0x52, which corresponds to the ASCII code for DNGR (some older batches of NExT chips use the password 0x4E 0x45 0x78 0x54, which corresponds to NExT).

Finally, many of the critical configuration bytes used by NTAG chips are stored on the last pages of chip memory. This means it's possible that an NFC application that does not properly recognize or respect the chip's memory layout could accidentally try to write NDEF records (the data you're trying to store on the chip) beyond the configuration bytes. For example, if the data you try to write is longer than the available memory pages, the rest of the data could overwrite the configuration bytes, which include settings that are potentially dangerous to alter. Accidental writing to these memory pages could irreversibly lock the configuration of your chip. For this reason, the configuration bytes are password protected by the NTAG chip’s password feature so they cannot be written to or updated. When your chip implant leaves our factory, the entire user memory is still fully accessible and writable, while the configuration bytes and password values are protected from accidental or malicious overwriting.

Once your chip implant is installed, you can use any NFC smartphone app to write data to the tag without worrying that the tag will be accidentally locked or that configuration bytes will be changed, or that someone will maliciously lock your tag or change your password. We recommend using the TagWriter app from NXP.
