The Business Card Under Your Skin
Imagine meeting someone for the first time – and instead of searching for a paper business card, you simply hold your hand to their smartphone. One tap – and all your contact details are transferred. No apps, no typing, no typos. With a microchip implant and a smartphone’s NFC function, you can instantly share your phone number, email, website, or social media profiles.
Technically, it works just like transferring emergency information: The implant sends stored data (e.g., a digital business card) to the NFC-enabled smartphone of the other person. The phone then automatically opens the contacts app or a website – depending on what you’ve stored.
Option A: NFC Tools
With the NFC Tools app, you can decide exactly what information to store on your implant. This can be a complete digital business card, a link to your LinkedIn profile, or your website.
Required Products:
- Implant: xNT, NExT, or xSIID (NFC-enabled)
- Smartphone with NFC function
- App: NFC Tools (Android & iOS)
Setup:
- Step 1: Install and launch NFC Tools
- Step 2: In the app, choose “Write” and enter your contact details or URL
- Step 3: Hold your implant to the smartphone’s NFC area to write the data
- Step 4: Test – hold your hand to another NFC smartphone and check the result
Difficulty: Low
Option B: Spark Implant (vCard)
The Spark Implant is designed specifically to store vCards – the international standard for digital business cards. This allows almost any modern smartphone to import the contact details directly into its address book – without the need for additional apps.
Required Products:
- Implant: Spark
- Smartphone with NFC function
Setup:
- Step 1: Use the included instructions to program your vCard data
- Step 2: Enter your name, phone number, email, website, and any other info
- Step 3: Hold your implant to an NFC smartphone – the contact details will be recognized automatically
