NXTPAY - The Future of Payment
Congratulations on your new payment tool.
Please read the following information carefully to ensure that everything is in order right from the start.
The following information is divided into three sections:
- Setting up and commissioning the NxtPay,
- Installation under the skin,
- Other notes.
Section 1: Setting up and commissioning the NxtPay
STEP 2: SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT
Add the VIMpayGo segment in the VIMpayBoard to set up your implant. To do this, click on (+) in the tab bar (Store), then scroll to the right to VIMpayGo in the ‘Payment’ list and click on ‘Set up’ at the bottom and finalise the corresponding setup steps.
After setting up, enter the 8-digit ID that comes with your implant. You can see exactly how this works in this video: https://bit.ly/2w3YAyD
STEP 3: TOP UP YOUR VIMPAY ACCOUNT
In order to top up your implant, you must first top up your VIMpay account - i.e. load credit onto your VIMpay account.
- Tap on the ‘+’ top-up icon in the orange VIMpay segment on the board
- Enter a desired amount
- (If not already done) Tap on ‘Bank not found’ and enter the IBAN of your account
- You will see the IBAN that you need to enter in the transfer to top up credit
- Confirm in the VIMpay app by tapping on ‘I have transferred’
- The top-up amount will be credited to your VIMpay account within 2-3 working days. If your first top-up is a manual top-up or a SEPA transfer, you can transfer a maximum of €100 from your account to your VIMpay account. Once your account has been confirmed with this transfer, you can top up your VIMpay account with as much credit as you like, depending on your annual limit.

STEP 4: TOP UP YOUR NXTPAY
To top up your NxtPay now, you must first top up your VIMpay account - i.e. load credit onto your VIMpay account.
Use the MoneySwift function to transfer money from your VIMpay account to your NxtPay ( = VIMpayGo) in real time.
In order to top up your NxtPay (VIMpayGo) with your desired amount, at least this desired amount must be available as credit on your VIMpay account. If this is not the case, you must first top up your VIMpay account.
Click on the arrow icon in the top right-hand corner of the orange segment and transfer the desired amount from your VIMpay account to your VIMpayGo / NxtPay card via Money Swift. The amount is transferred in real time and is immediately available on your NxtPay.
STEP 5: MAKE A TEST PURCHASE
It is important to test the NxtPay. While the NxtPay is still in the packaging, it can be recognised by a terminal. Do not open the pouch/package under any circumstances as the clinical sterility and cleanliness of the NxtPay will be compromised.
ATTENTION: As your NxtPay is equipped with a very small antenna (compared to a large credit card, for example), it is all the more important WHERE exactly on the terminal the NxtPay is placed and in which rotation it is placed. The so-called ‘sweet spot’ is the be-all and end-all for a successful transaction. Errors are not tolerated!
Contactless payment is triggered when the electromagnetic waves emitted by the payment terminal's antenna recognise the NxtPay's antenna and establish a stable connection. If you place the NxtPay even a few millimetres away from the terminal's antenna, pairing problems may occur and the terminal will display an error message.
The terminal's NFC antenna is normally positioned across the screen or above the reader. It is important to place the NxtPay perpendicular to the antenna to ensure a stable connection. Make sure you have found the right spot. Unfortunately, every Paymant terminal is different. A general statement as to where exactly would therefore not work.
You can also find out the sweet spot with our LED. The ‘sweet spot’ is where it shines brightest.
Pay with your implant
Hold your implant over the card reader to start the payment process. If you spend more than €25, you will need your PIN, which you can access, change and manage in the app at any time.
Section 2: Installation of the NxtPay
STEP 1: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE PIERCER
A good piercer or body modder should be able to insert the NxtPay. It is supplied with a needle, so inserting it is similar to inserting a conventional implant with a syringe. If you don't have a piercer near you, take a look at our partner map (https://digiwell.com/bodyhacking-einsetzen) and find a piercer there.
STEP 2: INSERT
When it comes to the question of where your NxtPay should be installed, we recommend the position approx. 2cm above the hand on the forearm (see photo). It is important that the NxtPay sits in a relatively quiet place. The edge of the hand, for example, is the worst possible place.
Please download the installation instructions for your piercer here!
Note: If your piercer does not want/is not allowed to inject Lidocaine, then get Emla ointment or something similar from the pharmacy. Apply it according to the instructions. This will make the skin surface insensitive to pain before insertion. Very effective.
Section 3: Further information
The NxtPay is definitely not a ‘toy’ and not a ‘normal’ gadget:
- The NxtPay is sterile packaged, but this packaging is very fragile. Permeable pouches or porous backs are designed to allow the sterilisation process to penetrate the packaging and sterilise the item inside. Due to the easy handling of the packaging, oils and contaminants can leak out. This is normal.
- The date on the pack indicates how long the packaging is considered sterile, not until when the NxtPay is valid.
- The NxtPay was tested before delivery - i.e. it is technically in perfect working order. It has to be, otherwise we would not be able to read the 8-digit PIN!
- You realise that ‘payment’ is a complex process and that POS systems are equipped with different reading systems. Not all of them work the same way. There may even be systems that cannot cope with NxtPay. Older models in particular can cause problems.
- The simple structure of the NxtPay is wear-free and is not subject to any internal dependencies due to the lack of its own energy source. This means that it cannot fail on its own. If it works once (which we test before every delivery), it will always work until the expiry date.
- This means that the user has a special responsibility to protect against external mechanical influences. The use of the NxtPay is therefore - like the choice of location - at the user's own risk. A statutory warranty cannot apply in the event of external influences. In other words: If you use the NxtPay, you do so in the knowledge that it may stop working due to negligence, external influences (shocks, impacts, magnetism, etc.) or other sources. Not knowing why it ‘suddenly’ stopped working (‘I didn't do anything’) therefore does not constitute grounds for compensation, reimbursement or warranty.
- You are aware that, for legal reasons (the typical ‘valid until’), the NxtPay no longer works after a maximum of 5 years. After the five years, the NxtPay can simply be removed by a piercer like a splinter. The piercer and the customer then decide together whether the existing small pocket should be reused for a new NxtPay. Anaesthetised with Emla ointment, you shouldn't feel a thing.
