More lung volume with a training mask

More lung volume with a training mask

I hate running. Step by step, lap after lap... a torture for me personally.

Don't get me wrong. I love sport, I love challenging my body and whether it's cardio, strength, HIIT... all ok... if only it wasn't for running. I know exactly how healthy and effective running is, it's just not my thing. On the treadmill I drop out after 5km at the latest, when running in nature I turn into a toddler.... ‘When will we be there’?... so... when will we finally be back? Maybe you feel the same way? As a biohacker, I don't want to miss out on the training effect of running, but I don't want to run normally either.

My training mask now provides me with a remedy. OK, the people at the gym look like they've lost their marbles, but hey... I don't mind. What does a mask like this do? The bottom line is that it shortens my running time. Whereas I used to run maybe 5 kilometres, the oxygen reduction now gives me a similar training effect at ‘only’ 3.5 kilometres.

The mask simulates altitude training, so to speak. It makes breathing more difficult and thus optimises the diaphragm muscles. The result is greater lung capacity. The training mask simulates altitude training, i.e. training in air with less oxygen. This stimulates the formation of blood cells, so that ultimately more oxygen can be transported.

The mask promotes increased lung capacity by forcing you to take fuller and deeper breaths. As your body adapts to the resistance, your lungs are trained to breathe deeper and utilise oxygen more efficiently.

The breathing mask boosts your overall cardio and endurance training more and more as you continue to use it. The cool thing about the mask is that you can change the resistance without having to take it off. My mask has 6 levels ... from beginner to full pro:

  • Level 1: Simulates training at an altitude of 500m
  • Level 2: training at an altitude of 1,000m
  • Level 3: training at an altitude of 2,000m
  • Level 4: training at an altitude of 3,000m
  • Level 5: training at an altitude of 5,000m
  • Level 6: one training session at an altitude of 6,000 metres (hardcore!)

Zusammengefasst bietet so eine Maske beim Training also folgende Vorteile:

  • Increased lung volume
  • Improved endurance and condition
  • Lower heart rate
  • Improved fitness
  • and ... well... lots of puzzled looks :-)

Versuch es doch auch mal. Und natürlich kann man so eine Maske auch nutzen, wenn man gerne läuft ;-)
